Mahesh Mavi, a small farmer from Alirajpur, transformed his rainfed field by adopting a Two-Tier Vegetable Farming System under climate smart practices. With technical support from SIPA, he shifted from traditional mono-cropping to bitter gourd and chilli cultivation on just 0.25 acres. The intervention improved water-use efficiency by 40–50%, reduced input costs, and enhanced crop quality through natural farming methods. Within one season, the farmer achieved a net income of ₹31,850, proving that smart water management and crop diversification can build climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods for small farmers.

Sunita Yadav, a small farmer from Rajur village in Khalwa Block of Khandwa district, owns 5 acres of land and faced challenges of climate variability, water scarcity, and unstable farm income. With the support of SIPA Khandwa, she received a net shed structure worth 1.32 lakh for vegetable cultivation, floriculture, along with technical guidance and training from SIPA. By adopting climate-smart farming practices through the net shed structure and improved technical cultivation methods, she enhanced farm productivity and resilience. The net shed protected crops from extreme weather, improved water-use efficiency, and enabled year round vegetable cultivation. She diversified into crops such as marigold, okra, and brinjal, producing 25–30 quintals per crop. By adopting direct village-level marketing, she eliminated middlemen and secured better prices. Today, she earns Rs.1–1.5 lakh per crop, with an annual income of Rs.3–4.5 lakh. Climate smart agriculture has strengthened her income stability, reduced climate risks, and improved household food security, making her a role model who inspires other farmers to adopt climate-resilient agriculture.

.Dinesh, a progressive farmer from Model Village Burma in Alirajpur district, owns 3 acres of irrigated land. With technical support from SIPA, he transformed his rainfed farming system by adopting climate smart vegetable cultivation for improved income and livelihood security. Moving away from traditional mono cropping, Dinesh introduced Tomato (Green Grow variety) cultivation on 0.75 acres, inspired through the Farmers Field School approach. By integrating crop diversification, livestock, and sustainable agricultural practices such as Raised Bed Farming (RBF), drip irrigation, and balanced nutrient management, he significantly enhanced farm productivity and resource-use efficiency. As a result, Dinesh achieved a net income of Rs.1.05 lakh, while improving soil health, increasing water-use efficiency, enhancing crop quality, and boosting overall production. His success demonstrates that climate-smart agriculture can provide sustainable livelihood security and serves as a replicable model for smallholder farmers.

Kasmer Khadiya, a farmer from Manpur village in Thandla Block of Jhabua district, transformed his farming system by shifting from low-yield cotton monocropping to a diversified, climate smart mixed farming model. With support from SIPA, he adopted high-value vegetable cultivation along with livestock integration to strengthen his livelihood. By implementing crop diversification and modern agronomic practices such as Broad Bed Furrow (BBF), drip irrigation, mulching, and Soil Health Card (SHC) based nutrient management, Kasmer significantly improved farm productivity and resource efficiency.

As a result, his annual income increased from less than 1 lakh to approximately 3.30 lakh, ensuring year-round income, improved soil health, enhanced water use efficiency, and better livelihood security. His success story serves as a replicable model for smallholder farmers seeking sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
